Mrs. Elizabeth Black died at the home of her son, David S. Black, at Ebensburg, September 24, 1899 aged 91 years and 10 days. She was born in Westmoreland county, near New Alexandria, September 14, 1808, and came to this county when about grown up with her parents, Jacob and Elizabeth Roof. At the age of 22 years she married Peter Warner, of Armstrong county. To them were born three children - a daughter who died in infancy; J.H. Warner, who lives in Ebenezer, this county, and J.W.Warner, who lives near Indiana. When J.W. was one and one-half years old their father was killed by falling from the roof of a barn he was building. Mrs Warner remained a widow for five years and then married Samuel Black who died eight years ago. To them were born four children- Hannah, of Marion Center; Ann, of Cookport; John, of Oklahoma; and David of Ebensburg. Her prayer has been answered for several years that she would not sick long to be a burdon in any way and it was answered, for she died without a struggle.
