- From the Butters Family:
He enlisted Oct. 17, 1780, seaman, on board the sloop Morning Star, and he is described as stature 5-7; complexion dark; age 19. He also enlisted in the War of 1812, in the detached company of Capt. Hastings, in Lieut Col. Dudley’s regiment, from Sept. 13 to Nov. 7, 1814.
He followed the business of market gardening, living for a time in Concord, and moved to Lunenburg about 1810. [1]
