- Louis was the son of William and Nora (Fitzhenry) Barnes. He was a 1935 graudate of Centreville Public School. He and Leola owned and operated a 5 & 10 store in Centreville. He also served as Branch Manager of Michigan State License Bureau, Centreville Villege Clerk and Justice of the Peace in Centreville.
He served in WWII with the Armored Infantry of the U. S. Army.
Louis and Leola were long time members of the Bostwick Lake Congrational Church near Rockford, Michigan. He served there as Moderator and on the board of Trustees and Deacons.
He retired from Lear Siegler in 1978 after 26.5 years.
