    • John was one of the heroes under Capt. Michael Pierce of Scituate, who fell when Capt. Peirce and nearly all of his men were slain in the Rehoboth battle in 1676, better known as the Pawtucket Fight, in which Capt. Peirce and more than 60 of his men were slain on 26 Mar 1676, the Sabbath.
