Tresa McFadden has been a valuable source of information in working on this Family Tree Project, she has a keen memory and has provided many things of interest including the fact that I lived with my grandparents, Wm. Henry Wiedbrauk for about a year as my mother was not well at the time, at the time Aunt Tresa was a young lady of 15 and looked after me. She also said she dated 2 of my Uncles, Cecil & Nelson who were my Mother's brothers.
Her husband Lewis McFadden had lived near Grand Ledge and came to Curran and his Hay fever was so much better while there that he got a job clerking in Ward Small's store, and she first went out with him when she, Manford & Edna Emery & Lewis were talking about going to a dance, Manford & Edna wanted to go and Lewis said he would go if Tresa would go, and she consented, they drove to the ocation about 35 miles away and the dance was held on the previous night.
While she was a young girl living at home an Indian woman, Mrs. Beaver would come to their home with a small wagon that was pulled by one horse, she lived at the Mikado Indian settlement and would make baskets and would have he wagon loaded with them and would stay at their house and go out during the day to sell the baskets and come back at night to stay, she gave her mother many baskets, she had a daughter Amelia who married Amos Nahagon.
Tresa has a bible that was given to her grandfather John S. Fullerton by Dorcas Hotaling. She also has the original letter correspondence between her father William Henry Wiedbrauk & John S. Fullerton, when John was in Curran and her father & family were in Minnesota. When she was a very young girl she walked to Mr. Jakee place and had her picture taken, the picture is still around and Tresa was a very attractive little girl.
When Tresa and Lewis married they lived in the Don Smith house next to her brother Walter Wiedbrauk on Wilson road. They lived there for about 1year and son Jim was born there and Lewis worked for Ward Small at the store.
Then moved to the Susy Emswiler house 2 doors north of the store this home had a flowing well and in later years was occupied by Silas & Winnie Roth, they stayed there for about 5 years and Dan & Bill were born while there. They then moved to Lincoln for 4 years and Lewis sold Insurance and daughter Glena was born.
In 1941 they moved to Flint where son Dick was born. Lewis worked for Trailer Transport setting up Emergency Housing and Tresa worked at AC Spark Plug.
1944 moved to Bangor, then to Lacota then to present location in Breedsville. Tresa worked at Adams Electronics for 14 years and also as an aide at South Haven Hospital. Lewis worked in the Oil Fields and then at Bangor Cooler making Refrigeration doors for walk in units.
