      Virginia (Nash) Pane, 95, of Reading, formerly of Melrose and Ogunquit, Maine and West Palm Beach Fla., died November 8, 2005, at the Wingate at Reading. She was the wife of the late Kaino F. Pane.
      Mrs. Pane was a longtime resident of Melrose, where she grew up and spent her married life. A graduate of Melrose High School, she had worked at the John Hancock Life Insurance Co. for 19 years before marrying Kaino F. Pane, whom she met while both were on vacation in Ogunquit.
      While raising three children, Mrs. Pane had been employed part time at Melrose High School and was an active member of the Congregational Church. After her husband’s retirement, they became permanent residents of Ogunquit and spent winters in West Palm Beach.
      Mrs. Pane is survived by her son, Donald Pane and his wife, Georgia; her daughter, Janet Pane-Joyce and her husband, David; her grandchildren, Kelly Kaufman, Jenny Pane, Rebecca Pane, Genevieve Pane-Joyce and James Pane-Joyce; and three nieces, Susan Walden, Betsi Prince and Sally Stephenson.
      She was also the mother of the late David Pane; and sister of the late Mildred Bacon and Eunice Stephenson.
      A memorial service will take place at a later date. Arrangements are by the W.S. Cavanaugh & Son Funeral Home of Wilmington.
      In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the charity of one’s choice or to Hospice Care, Inc., 41 Montvale Ave., Stoneham, MA 02180.
