      Marriage
Mr. & Mrs. John Schirado, Jr.
At a 9 a.m. nuptial mass Saturday at St. Mary’s Catholic church, Miss Verda Marian Buelow, 223 First St., daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Paul Buelow, Glen Ullin became the bride of John Schirado, Jr., son of Mr. and Mrs. John Schirado, Sr., Glen Ullin.
The ceremony marked the birthday anniversary of the bridegroom’s brother, Ernest Schirado, Glen Ullin, who served as best man. Miss Theresa Bachmeier, 312 S. Tenth St., was maid of honor in a peach taffeta gown fashioned with a net top. She carried a colonial bouquet.
The very Rev. Robert A. Feehan celebrated the mass and read the double ring ceremony. The girls’ choir sang.
A gown of white satin was worn by the bride. It featured a sheer yoke outlined with a lace ruffle in off-the-shoulder effect, with the lace repeated in scallops on the sckirt and also edging the long train. Her fingertipveil of net was held in place by a high crown. She carried a rose bouquet and carried a rosary, the gift of the bridegroom.
A breakfast for members of the bridal party was served in the Patterson hotel dining room after the ceremony. A wedding dance was held at the Gateway in Glen Ullin that evening, with Billy Anners of Dickinson furnishing the music for dancing.
The new Mrs. Schirado attended Glen Ullin schools and is employed at the Service Drug Store in bismarck. Her husband also was educated in Glen Ullin and saw overseas service in the European theater with the army during World War II. He is employed by the Shell Oil Co.
