| Notes |
- From Lincoln’s History of the Town of Hingham:
“Thomas, first of the name in Hing., had a grant of lnad here in 1637; also other granats at subsequent dates. Nichols’s Hill, referred to in early deeds (Suff. Recs. vol. 4, p. 207), prob. took its name from him. On the 11th of march, 1653, he added to his real estate by purchasing of Thomas Josselyn, et al., dw.-house, barn, etc., with three acres of land, which had previously belonged to Stephen Lincoln, bounded by the ‘common’ north and south; the ‘comons’ and Thomas Nichols west; and Thomas Lincoln, husbandman, east. ... Resided on Fort Hill Stl, a short distance form the West Hing. railroad station.”
Thomas, in Hingham 1637, removed probably to Scituate, after marrying Rebecca, but in a few years back to Hingham.
“Thomas Nichols (shipwright) had lands near Hobart’s landing, on the south-west, 1645.” [1, 2, 3]
