Of the large family of Ephraim and Rachel Otis, two members, Lusannah and Rachel, spent their married lives and died at Windsor, Nova Scotia, Rachel having been married there in 1769. ... One of the descendants of Lusannah Otis, Sir Arthur Haliburton, was raised to the British peerage, while a descendant of Rachel Otis, who was married to Benjamin DeWolf, was the wife of William Henry, 19th Earl of Erroll, the Countess of Erroll’s mother having been the wife of Hon. Charles Stephen Gore, G.C.B, and K.H., 3rd son of the 2nd Earl of Arran. [1]
