    Text ROOD (Rockford) - - Mr. Arthur F. Rood Sr., aged 60, passed away Saturday morning May 7, 1988. Mr. Rood was a Veteran of the Korean War, a member of the Merritt Lamb Post #102 American Legion and a retiree of McInerney Spring and Wire where he worked for 37 years. He is survived by his wife, Betty, his children and their spouses, Arthur and Rene' Rood Jr. of Tocoma, WA, Susan and John Pape of Denver, CO, Jeffrey and Chris Rood of Ft Wayne, IN, Laurie Rood of Rockford; a step-son, Larry Botbyle of Greenville; his granddaughters, Kristi and Krystal Rood, Amie and Sarah Pape and Jamie Rood; his sisters, Mrs. Charles (Catherine) Polonowski of Belmont, Mrs. Daniel (Dorothy) O'Brien of Grand Rapids; his brothers-in-law, Mrs. Bill (Irene) Wilson, Mrs. Bob (Thelma) Dreyer, Mrs. Janet Dykhouse, all of Grandville, Eugene (Mary) Dykhouse, Mrs Marge Dykhouse both of Grand Rapids, Mrs. Linda Dykhouse of White Cloud; nieces and nephews. The Service for Mr. Rood will be held Tuesday at 1 o'clock from the funeral home, with the Rev. Lee R. Bayer officiating. Interment in Plainfield Township Cemetery, under the auspices of the Kent County Honor Guard. Memorials to Hospice of Greater Grand Rapids, the Kent County Chapter of the American Cancer Society or the American Heart Association. Envelopes are available at the funeral home. The family will greet friends from 7 to 9 Sunday evening and 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 Monday at Pederson Funeral Home.
