Notes |
- Abigail did not marry. Having no relatives nearer than second cousins [that is, no living relatives nearer than first cousins once removed], she distributed her estate, which had been inherited in part from Otises, Cushings, and Briggses, among these cousins. She also made generous bequests to the town of Norwell (then South Scituate) for special purposes, as well as to the First Parish of South Scituate (which had been the Second Church of Scituate), and to the James Library.
