Helen was born January 25, 1921 in Iosco Township, Livingston County, to Francis and Mary (Ramsdell) Farrington. Helen graduated from Stockbridge High School, class of 1939. She was a charter member of Christ United Methodist Church. Helen was a night matron at Willow Manor Women’s Home for 20 years and worked for Abram’s Ariel during WWII. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ernest in 1982; son David in 1997; brothers Lyle (Burdetta) Farrington and Francis Farrington and sister Ilah (Claude) Cook. Surviving are two daughters, Phylis (Tim) Childs and Cynthia Grostick; daughter-in-law Melissa Grostick; grand children Darcy (Keith) Beresheim, Daniel Grostick, Tim II (girlfriend, Kristen Foster), Erica and Stacy Childs and sister-in-law Faye Farrington of FL. The family will receive friends Monday, November 12, 2-4 pm and 6-8pm at the Gorsline Runciman Funeral Homes, East Lansing. A Service of Resurrection will be held Tuesday, November 13, 2012, 11:00 a.m. at Christ United Methodist Church, 517 W. Jolly Road, Lansing, with Rev. Charles D. Grauer officiating. Interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery. Contributions may be made to the church, Eaton Community Palliative Care, 2675 S. Cochran, Charlotte, MI,48813, or Active Living for Adults, 201 Hillside Court, East Lansing, MI 48823, in memory of Helen.
